CDBG - R (Supplimental Stimulus Funds)
PUBLIC NOTICE (May 28, 2009)
Under Title XII of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act), the Town of Arlington expects to receive $348,928 in supplemental Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds referred to as CDBG-R and as such is considered an amendment to the Town’s current approved 2008/2009 Annual Action Plan. The purpose of CDBG-R funds is to “stimulate the economy through measures that modernize the Nation’s infrastructure, improve energy efficiency, and expand educational opportunities and access to health care.”
In order for the Town to receive this grant allocation, the Town must prepare and submit to the Department of Housing and Urban Development an amendment to its 2008/2009 Community Development Annual Action Plan on or before June 5, 2009. The amendment will be available for review in the Department of Planning and Community Development at the Arlington Town Hall beginning May 28, 2009. All interested parties are encouraged to review and comment on the amendment. Comments may also be sent in writing by June 4, 2009, to the Department of Planning & Community Development, 730 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA 02476.
