How can I obtain a copy of a Town Bylaw?
You can obtain a copy of the Town Bylaws by following this link or (for a written copy) by contacting the Town Clerk located on the second floor of the Town Hall.

How can I get an interpretation of a Town Bylaw?
Under the Town Charter, Town Counsel is prohibited from giving legal advice to other than Town officials, boards, commissions and committees.

How do I prepare a warrant article or substitute motion?
Warrant articles and substitute motions are prepared by this office as time and availability permit.  For more on this process, you can view the Warrant Article Submission Instructions when posted (usually in December) at arlingtonma.gov/townmeeting. You may also contact Town Counsel at (781) 316-3151.

How can I get personal legal assistance?
Under the Town Charter, Town Counsel is prohibited from giving legal advice to other than Town officials, boards, commissions, and committees.  You should contact a private attorney or one of the following agencies:
