The Arlington Health Department is conducting a community-wide outreach campaign to enlist more residents as volunteers in the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). The Medical Reserve Corps is a group of medical and nonmedical volunteers who assist in both emergency and non-emergency health department activities such as working at annual flu vaccination clinics or helping to staff a shelter during an emergency.
The Arlington Health Department will rely on the MRC this fall as plans for H1N1 vaccinations are being developed.
The nearly 100 member Arlington MRC was developed in 2006 in collaboration with the communities that surround Boston and is led and organized by the Cambridge Health Department. MRC volunteers are offered trainings and are given identification badges and a uniform for use during service.
To register to become an MRC volunteer please complete and return this form.
