The Arlington Youth Counseling Center (AYCC) hosted a Think:Kids Conference at the Ottoson Middle School on April 26. Think:Kids is an innovative, evidence-based approach that provides a new way of understanding and helping kids. Challenging behavior has traditionally been thought of as willful and goal oriented. Think:Kids has some very different ideas about why some kids struggle.
The conference provided suggestions for ways adults can begin to shift their thinking and approach to foster positive relationships with their children and encourage growth in areas of self-regulation, communication and problem solving.

Based on the positive feedback received from the participants, AYCC anticipates hosting another Think:Kids conference in the fall.
