2010 Annual Town Election Calendar
The Town Clerk shall not furnish blank forms for nomination of candidates for town office to any person other than a candidate seeking such nomination or a person presenting the signed authorization of a candidate to secure said forms on his behalf. Ch. 53, §17, G.L.
Each candidate shall file with the Town Clerk prior to obtaining blank nomination papers, a statement containing his name and address, and the office for which he intends to be a candidate. Ch. 53, §9A, G.L.
No candidate for town office shall receive more blank nomination papers than will contain the number of signatures required to place his name in nomination, multiplied by five.
Every nomination paper shall be filed by a responsible person and must contain the written acceptance of the candidate.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11 5:00 P.M. - LAST DAY AND HOUR FOR OBTAINING BLANK NOMINATION PAPERS (48 week day hours prior to the hour on which nomination papers are required to be submitted to the Registrars of Voters for certification) Ch. 53, §9A, G.L.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15 ** 5:00 P.M. - LAST DAY AND HOUR FOR TOWN MEETING MEMBERS WHO ARE CANDIDATES FOR RE-ELECTION to give written notice thereof to Town Clerk (21 days prior to last day and hour for filing nomination papers with Town Clerk) Ch. 43A, §6, - Ch. 53, §10, G.L. as amended by Ch. 477, §18, Acts of 1985 (If last day is a Sunday or holiday, deadline is following day.)**
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22 5:00 P.M. - LAST DAY AND HOUR FOR SUBMITTING ALL NOMINATION PAPERS TO THE REGISTRARS OF VOTERS FOR CERTIFICATION OF SIGNATURES (14th day preceding on which they are to be filed with Town Clerk)

SATURDAY, APRIL 10 ANNUAL TOWN ELECTION (First Article of Annual Town Meeting -- all other business considered at Town Meeting held on 4th Monday in April) Art. 1, 1 & 3, Town By-Laws, and 1 of Town Manager Act.

NUMBER OF SIGNATURES TO BE CERTIFIED
TOWN OFFICES -- except town meeting members -- nomination papers must be properly signed by at least 50 voters (1% of the entire vote cast for governor at preceding State Election -- maximum number required 50). Registrars need not certify a greater number of names than are required to make a nomination, increased by two-fifths thereof -- or 70. Ch. 53, 6 & 7, G.L. (No more than 8 blank nomination papers issued)
TOWN MEETING -- properly signed by not less than 10 voters of the precinct in which the candidate resides. MEMBERS Registrars need MEMBERS not certify a greater number of names than are required to make a
nomination, increased by two-fifths thereof -- or 14. Ch. 43A, 5 and Ch. 53, 7, G.L. (No more than
1 blank nomination paper issued)
