Current Job Openings
The Committee discussed the hiring process for residential housing specialist. The Committee also discussed the status of the hiring process for Deputy Town Manager.
Current Bid Projects
Caryn Malloy reported that the contract for renovations to the Town Rink had been awarded for $790,000. The contract for renovations to Building B of the Town Yard is on hold. The Stratton School rehab project now has an architect. The Central Fire Station project is set to go out in two weeks. Also going out this week is the Summer Street Playground.
School Diversity Task Group
Barbara Boltz reported that the group had a meeting on February 4th to do the final planning for the coffee held on February 10th that was cancelled due to snow. It was finally held on March 9th in the library. Seven people attended: five new people and two returning people. They discussed the idea of transitioning to the teachers having their own group. There are fifty-eight languages spoken within the student body of the Arlington public schools. The group discussed their positive opinion of Interim Superintendent Kathie Bodie.
